2012 Chevrolet Volt Preview

Preview:

The Chevrolet Volt is a four-passenger, five-door compact hatchback plug-in hybrid electric vehicle. For (up to) the first 40 miles, the vehicle drives gas- and tailpipe-emissions-free using electricity stored in its lithium-ion battery. When the Volt's battery runs low, a gas-powered, engine/generator seamlessly operates to extend the driving range another 300 miles on a full tank.

The Volt is powered by an 115kW electric motor and 16kWh lithium-ion battery pack, enabling it to travel approximately 40 miles on a charge. The 1.4-liter gasoline range extender generates electricity and provides an additional 300 miles of driving. The battery can be charged with a standard household 120-volt outlet in about ten hours, or in about four hours with a 240-volt outlet (similar to a clothes dryer outlet). Standard features include automatic climate control, forged alloy wheels, passive entry, satellite radio and Bluetooth connectivity. OnStar's Mobile Application allows drivers to communicate with their Volt from their smartphones - it uses a real-time data connection to perform tasks such as setting the charge time, displaying charge status, unlocking the doors and remotely starting the vehicle to pre-condition the interior temperature. Safety features include eight airbags, traction control and stability control. The optional Premium Trim Package includes leather seat trim, leather wrapped steering wheel and heated front seats. Front and rear park assist and a rear camera are also available. A new audio system with navigation, 30-gigabyte hard drive, NavTraffic real-time traffic display and Bose speaker system is optional.

For 2012, the standard audio system has been changed, and a new audio system is available. Passive entry for all doors and the liftgate is now standard. Chevrolet MyLink, a new option, includes Bluetooth streaming audio for music and select phones; voice recognition for phone, music and radio; Pandora and Stitcher smartphone compatibility; Gracenote (Playlist+, Album Art); and is software updatable for radio software and the Gracenote database.

2012 Chevrolet Avalanche

Overview:

 Debuting in 2001 as a 2002 model, the Chevrolet Avalanche is a full-size pickup truck whose "midgate" system offers many features usually found in SUV. Found between the Avalanche's cab and truck bed, the midgate adds nearly three additional feet to the bed's five-foot length, allowing it haul long items such as plywood, spools, piping, etc., easily. When closed and the rear seats are down, the Avalanche can accommodate up to six people with an SUVs ride and quiet.

General Motors launched the current (second) generation Chevrolet Avalanche in 2006 as a 2007 model. Owing more to the Chevy Tahoe and Suburban SUVs than to the Silverado pickup truck, the Avalanche boasts a few changes for the 2012 model year, but otherwise remains largely the same as last year's model.

 The 2012 Chevrolet Avalanche gets few changes which include available seven-inch touch screen and built-in 80Gb hard drive, standard electronic trailer sway control, and hill-start assist system. Otherwise, the 2012 Chevy Avalanche carries over unchanged from the 2011 model, when it was refreshed with new exterior color choices (Steel Green Metallic, Mocha Steel Metallic and Inferno Orange Metallic replace Laser Blue Metallic and Black Granite Metallic) and available 20-inch wheels. The Chevy Avalanche LS trim gets standard body colored rearview mirrors while the Avalanche LTZ with four-wheel drive gets standard two-speed transfer case to replace the earlier one-speed version.

Hubler Proud to Sponsor WWAST vs. NFL Stars Super Bowl Challenge

On Feb. 1st a great event took place on Indy’s Southside and Hubler was proud to participate.  Indianapolis made history by being the first Host City to have a charity event between the Wounded Warriors Amputees vs. NFL Stars in conjunction with the Super Bowl Celebration.  There was a tremendous turnout for the event to support our brave Veterans and meet some former NFL Greats.  The standing room only crowd saw an action packed but light hearted flag football game with lots of memorable moments.  The event was shown on the Pentagon Channel, NFL Network and all local TV stations reported on the great event.

 

NFL Greats like Ken Dilger, Rocky Bleier, Jim Sorgi, Gary Padjen, Jerry Kramer, Bill Romanowski, Jeff George, Jack Youngblood, Barry Krauss and many more participated and the team was coached by Dick Vermeil.  Mayor Greg Ballard and Major General Martin Umbarger of the IN National Guard were also on hand and shared some touching words with the crowd.

 

Hubler was proud to be involved and gave away over 110 tickets to our customers and employees.  In addition to ticket sales and sponsorship money the charity raised almost $3,000.00 during the halftime prize raffle.  All proceeds went to the WWAST to be use to support all their future activities.  It was a great event to show your pride and appreciation for our Military and Veterans.  Thanks to everyone who came out and supported the teams!  Learn more at woundedwarrioramputeesoftballteam.org

 The Wounded Warrior Amputee Sports Team is made up of veterans of the wars in Iraq & Afghanistan who suffered an injury requiring the amputee of a limb... Inthis game, the WWAST will be led by 4 time Super Bowl winning Pittsburgh Steeler star Rocky Bleier, who received two Purple Hearts of his own while serving in the US Army in Viet Nam, by former standout Rockville, Indiana HS star, Matt Kinsey and NFL star QB Jeff George has graciously agreed to QB this squad...

 

 The team will be coached by David van Sleet, founder of the WWAST along with the commanding general of the Indiana National Guard, Major General Martin Umbarger...  The Wounded Warrior Amputees will face a star studded roster of current and formerNFL players including Hall-of-Famer Jack Youngblood, Bill Romanowski, Ken Dilger,Jim Sorgi, Bill Brooks, Devon McDonald, Darvell Huffman, Barry Krauss, Kevin Call,Gary Padjen, Cato June, Chris Draft, Jerry Kramer, Jamie Asher, Rick DeMulling, BillSchultz and another dozen current and former Colts & NFL stars to-be-announced.St Louis Rams Super Bowl winning coach Dick Vermeil with coach these NFL alums. Four Colt cheerleaders and the Southport HS cheerleaders will be there as well...  

 This game will be officiated by Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard (USMC Lt Colonel,retired, Mayor Ballard served in Operation Desert Storm) and Indiana State Supreme Court Justice Stephen David will preside at the game and handle any replay reviews. The game is to be played at the Indy Indoor Sports Park at 6650 S Bluff Rd in southIndianapolis on Wednesday evening, Feb 1, 2012... Kickoff is at 7:00 PM, doors openat 6:00 PM and a $20 donation is requested to attend... Hubler Chevrolet Inc teams up with Perry Meridian High School to help raise thousands of dollars for high school athletics program

 

Indianapolis (January 16, 2012)– In the spirit of teamwork taught by high school sports, Hubler Chevrolet Inc is partnering with Perry Meridian High School through Chevy Drive for Athletics, a program designed to support local high school athletic departments an opportunity to help them raise funds.

 

Perry Meridian High School will have the opportunity to raise more than $12,000 through a fundraising opportunity where 24 finalists will be selected to participate in an "Indy 500 Experience" and another 24 finalists will participate in an "Indianapolis Auto Show Experience". Two lucky finalists will win a Chevrolet Sonic.

 

Hubler Chevrolet Inc and other Indianapolis-area dealerships are donating these prizes to participating schools in the area. One-hundred percent of the proceeds go directly to the schools, and they can use the funds in any way they choose. 

 

Some schools plan to put the money raised towards entry fees and travel for tournaments, while others will use the funds to improve fields and equipment, scoreboards and uniforms.

 

"We are proud to be able to help the students and schools in our community by giving them the opportunity to raise much-needed funds for their school's athletic department, said Brooke Hubler of Hubler Chevrolet Inc. "We are excited to be part of the effort this year, and are proud of our relationship with Perry Meridian High School."

Hubler Chevrolet Inc will provide Perry Meridian High School  with an opportunity to raise funds as part of a Chevy Drive for Athletics Fundraiser.  Sponsored schools will each receive 2,500 fundraiser-entry tickets to distribute for a suggested donation, and the school will keep 100 percent of proceeds raised.  At the end of the fundraiser, there will be 24 winners of an Indy 500 Experience and an Indianapolis Auto Show Experience.
